David Arthur Egle

David A. Egle, age 72, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. David was born on December 7, 1942 at home in Grosse Pointe Woods, the son of Arthur and Virginia Egle. He was a 1961 graduate of Grosse Pointe High School. David was a tool and die maker by trade. He retired in 2013 from U.S. Manufacturing at the Tank Plant in Warren where he was a maintenance engineer. Dave's hobbies included anything automotive. He loved to restore cars and build hot rods. He was fond of Corvettes and tractors. Mr. Egle is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Jocelyn Beaird, Nicholas, Christina Franzese (Paolo), Alex, and Monique; his cherished granddaughter, Valentina; and siblings, Connie Watling (Patrick), Diana LaPointe and Jonathan (Mae). He was predeceased by his parents and son, Dennis. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lakeshore, Grosse Pointe Farms where the family will receive friends after 9:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Thomas Slowinski will officiate.
