Delores Victoria Amori

Delores Amori passed away peacefully at Shorepointe Nursing Care Facility in St. Claire Shores at the age of 86. She was born on April 7, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Marie Juras and Frederick Reitinger. Delores married Oscar Amori on October 7, 1948 at St. David Catholic Church in Detroit. They resided in Grosse Pointe Woods for decades. Mrs. Amori enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her three sons on Hawthorne in Grosse Pointe Woods. After her sons left for college Delores began her working career as a salesperson of women's clothing. She retired from Dennison's in the Village in the early 2000s. Mrs. Amori was an excellent cook and an excellent bowler belonging to many bowling leagues over the years. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Harrison Twp. Delores was loved by everyone. She had a great personality and would never say a mean word about anyone. She will truly be missed by everyone that knew her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A scripture service will begin at 7:00 pm. She will lie instate on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods.
