Dennis Frederick

Dennis retired from the Hamtramck Police Department as a Detective Sergeant after 30 years of service. He truly enjoyed his work and even after retiring, he worked as the Public Safety Director at Eastland Mall then continued further as a Crowd Manager at Little Caesar’s Arena, as well as a Harbor Master at Grosse Pointe Park. Dennis had a passion for cooking for his family and loved gardening at his home and his property Up North, or as he commonly referred to it as "The Frederick Retreat". He was also a devoted Red Wings fan and season ticket holder for the last 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed watching wrestling and all Detroit Sports. He had a great sense of humor, known as the life of the party and made lasting memories for all that knew him. His proudest moments were being a devoted husband, a loving Dad, and a fun Dziadzi to his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia; his loving daughters, Shawn Trofimuk (Eric), and Shannon Gedert (Jonathan); cherished grandchildren, his hockey buddy, Kallie Gedert, and his best bud, Deklan Gedert; sister, Denise Mackiewicz; brother, David Frederick (Cheryl); his sister-in- law Paula Crager (Mark); nieces and nephews, Joshua, Aaron (Brooke), Jeffrey (Kaitlyn), Eric, Darcie, Kelsey (Matthew), Marcia, Chrissy (Steve), and Joe (Tania). He will also be greatly missed by his loving dog, Sandy, as well as his family, many cousins, co-workers and friends.

Dennis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Stella Klyk, Anthony and Mary Krowicki, his mother and father-in-law, John and Dorothy Dikowski, and his beloved dog, Hoppie.

A Visitation will be held for Dennis on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 2PM- 8PM, with a Scripture Service at 7PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10AM with an Instate beginning at 9:30AM, at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
