Eileen A. Dutts

Eileen A. Dutts, age 86, died peacefully on March 20, 2016 at Wm Beaumont Hospital of Grosse Pointe. Eileen Maher was born on October 26, 1929 in Detroit. She graduated St. Rose of Lima High School in Detroit in 1948. After graduation she rented a room at the home of Mrs. Frances Burns on Gladwin Street. Eileen became an "adopted" member of their family and have been lifelong friends. She worked at Dunn & Bradstreet for a short period. In 1949 Eileen married Joseph Dutts at St. Rose Church. They made their home in Detroit until moving to St. Clair Shores in 1952 where they raised their family. Eileen was a wonderful homemaker and excelled at sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, decorative painting, decoupage, cooking and cake decorating. She was an avid volunteer especially at St. Joan of Arc Church and School. She lived her life in service of others. Eileen is survived by her children, Michael (Anne), Sally Rozycki (Kent), JoAnn Goodheart, and Colleen Ryan (John); six grandchildren, Thomas Dutts, Andrew, Ryan and Michael Rozycki and Thomas and Keri Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Casey and Ryan Dutts; and her sister Mary Wagner. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph (just three weeks ago, on February 26); her son, Thomas; and son-in-law George Goodheart. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. On Wednesday her body will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack at Overlake in St. Clair Shores from 9:30 am until mass begins at 10:00 am. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin and Rev. Fr. Richard Bartoszek will officiate. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22420 Overlake, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
