Elizabeth Fischer

Elisabeth Fischer passed away on September 12, 2017, at the age of 85. She was born in Eslohe, Germany, and came to the United States in 1953 to take care of her aunt and uncle (late Walburga Fischer and her brother, late Ferdinand Fischer). Elisabeth studied at Wayne State University, worked as a teacher and became an American citizen. She will always be remembered with great love by her family in Germany: Marianne (sister) and Hansjoerg Liebermann, Joachim (nephew) and Bettan Liebermann and their 2 daughters, Hans Fischer (brother), Friederike (niece) and Juergen Blome, Daniel Fischer (nephew) and daughter, Benedikt (nephew) and Nicola Fischer and their 2 sons, Susanne Rockenbach, wife of Elisabeths late nephew Wolfgang Liebermann, their 2 children, and Markus Keiner-Rockenbach (husband of Susanne). Elisabeth was the beloved companion of the late Pilar Lopez (Peter) for 20 years. Peters son Lawrence Lopez, his wife Janet and their 3 children, Peters nieces Lenore Hawkins and Rebecca Patterson as well as Rebeccas husband John will also keep Elisabeth in their hearts and minds. She will also be remembered with love by her oldest and best friend, Anne Ingalls-Zito. Elisabeth was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Ingrid Fischer (wife of Hans Fischer) and by Kathleen Lopez (Peters daughter). Her love, her cheerfulness, her great sense of humor and infectious laughter, her positive thinking, her open-minded and open-hearted approach to people and the world as well as her deep, vivid spirituality will be missed very much. The Visitation is on Friday, September 22nd, from 6-8 p.m. at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. In state 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Isaac Jogues, 21100 Madison Street, St. Claire Shores, until time of funeral Mass 10:00 AM, followed by a procession to Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Charter Township of Clinton, where Elisabeth will find her final resting place in a crypt in St. Veronica Aisle.
