Elsie Oddo passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2010. She was born on November 1st, 1925 in Monticello, Arkansas; daughter of Linwood and Nanny (nee Yarborough) Burton. During WWII Elsie was visiting her critically injured brother at a military hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi. During this visit Elsie met her dear Frank at a coffee shop. A few years later, on May 30th, 1946 Elsie and Frank Oddo were married in Detroit. Mrs. Oddo was a prototypical homemaker. She always maintained a garden for the family, was a wonderful cook, and seamstress. Her true love in life was being with her family. She always made a homemade cake for the family birthday parties. Her adoration for her grandchildren was immeasurable. She would tell them "Always be a leader, never a follower, and you will do great things"! Elsie also loved northern Michigan. She particularly enjoyed Mackinac Island, but would be just as satisfied sitting on any beach up North. Mrs. Oddo was proud of her children Mary Ann (Bill) Palazzolo, Barbara (Leo) Mayer, Frank (Pat) Oddo, and Sherry (Tom) Geyer. She adored her grandchildren Lisa (Shayne) Wilson, Bill (Tanya) Palazzolo, David (Nikki) Senter, Frank (Miranda) Senter, Kim (Faris Mona) Senter, Michelle (Kevin Gee) Oddo, Christina Oddo, and Andrea Geyer. She loved her great grandchildren Brett, Jay, Emma, Will, Haylee, Brendan, Maddi, Mark, Gregory, Anna, Savannah, Ashlyn, and Morgan. She leaves behind her sister Opal Vogel, brother Edwin (Norma) Burton, and her great aunt Opal. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Her husband Frank passed away on May 22, 1981.
