Francesco Conti

Francesco Conti was born in Detroit on August 6, 1926 the son of Pasquale and Nunziata Conti. He served his country in the Army during WWII, receiving an honorable discharge as a Sergeant. Francesco married Virginia Impastato on April 30, 1949 in Detroit and together they raised three children, Wayne, Claudette and Kevin. They enjoyed 68 wonderful years of marriage. Francesco passed from this life on January 15, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital of Grosse Pointe. Frank had a long career as an Analyst at Ford Motor Company beginning in 1947 until his retirement in 1985. He had a life-long love of music. Frank was the church choir director for many years, as well as leading the Restored Gospel Quartet. He also directed secular choir groups. He loved the challenge of crossword puzzles, as well as tending his garden. While in the Army during WWII he was a Sergeant Tech 4 in charge of soldiers in the Medical Corp. Francesco is survived by his beloved wife Virginia, his dear children Wayne (Mary), Claudette (Michael) Malboeuf and Kevin (Gloria). He was the loving grandfather of Gino (Fabiola), Armand, Dominic (Nicole), Fiori, and Dr. Nico Conti; and the brother of Mary Vitto and Theresa Piacentino. Visitation for Francesco will take place on Thursday from 3 until 9 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Francesco will lie in state on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ, 51735 Fairchild, Chesterfield 48051. The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to The Church of Jesus Christ.
