Frederick S. Gemmill, age 86 died October 29, 2011 at St. John Macomb Hospital, Warren. Fred was born October 16, 1925 to the late Edgar and Clara Gemmill in Wilmot, Michigan. Fred was a resident of Warren since 1931 serving as the Administrator of Warren from 1956-1987. He was a member of the Warren Association of Retired Employees, served on the Community Development Corporation of Warren, the Warren Historical and Genealogical Society. Fred also served in the Marine Corps. during WWII. Mr. Gemmill is survived by his stepchildren Victoria and Edward Popour, and Gloria Murray, brothers; Douglas and Richard. He was a dear uncle to Constance (Thomas) VanWieren and Nancy Lafferty. Dear great-uncle to Megan and Emily VanWieren. Visitation Monday 2PM-8PM at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic) Warren. Funeral service Tuesday 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City, Michigan.
