

George Frankfurth, age 86 of Warren, passed away April 30, 2015. He was born in Detroit on June 23, 1928; the son of Walter S. and Margaret H. (nee Dorsey) Frankfurth. George held positions as an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer at the General Motors Technical Center, Chrysler Corporation and ultimately at General Dynamics. He retired in 1991 after many years service. George was a Charter Member of Peace Lutheran Church, Warren, Michigan. In the early years he served as an elder and head usher when the church began. Later he also served on the building committee when our new church was constructed. George liked to restore and sell old cars and he was a member of the Packard Club. He also enjoyed camping and traveling in their motorhome. They took several trips out west and north up to Canada. In his later years, George took pleasure in relaxing and watching his much-loved Tigers. "Sweet George" will be remembered for being a happy-go-lucky fellow who was always easy to get along with and had an infectious and booming laugh. Beloved husband of Justine for 60-1/2 years. They were married at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on October 30, 1954. Loving father of Paul W. Frankfurth, David W. (Dianna) Frankfurth and Marlene J. (Peter) Humbert. Treasured grandfather of Joshua (Meredith) Frankfurth, Trevor Humbert, Delany Dorsey Humbert and the late Matthew Frankfurth. Dear brother of the late Jack Frankfurth and Anita Meeuwsen. George's family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Instate Monday 10:00am until time of service 11:00am at Peace Lutheran Church, 11701 E. 12 Mile Rd., Warren. Interment to take place at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Matthew Frankfurth Memorial Scholarship Fund, 4718 Parkridge, Waterford, MI 48329.
