Gerald R Collins

In Loving Memory Gerald R. Collins July 28, 1935 - August 3, 2019 Gerald R. Collins, age 84 peacefully passed after a short illness. He was lovingly cared for at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospice where his family was at his side throughout his entire stay. Gerald was born in Detroit, MI to the late Walter and Bertha Collins. He was a loving brother to six siblings: the late Walter Jr, Delores, Wilma and Victor, survived by brothers Richard and Norman He now has joined his devoted wife of 62 years, Margaret Collins who passed in 2016. Loving father to the late Gerald (Anita) Collins Jr, Ronald (Teri) Collins, M. Marie (late Robert) Hebeler, Theresa (Doug) Camburn, Thomas (Beth) Collins, Linda (Michael) Bolas, Christine Collins and Michelle Collins-Muldoon. Proud grandfather of 21 and great-grandfather of 4. Gerald's life was well lived. He retired in 2004 from General Motors Tech Center after 42 years of reliable service, the majority of which as a skilled journeyman electrician. He was a valued FOE member, expert gardener and landscaper; an avid fisherman and hunter - a true sportsman who cherished nature and his outdoor adventures. He was steadfast with traditional values, completely dedicated to his family, friends and colleagues; humble, level-headed, frugal and enormously generous. If he had three, he'd give you two. Visitation Friday August 9, 1:00 - 7:00pm; rosary at 7. Funeral service 11am, Saturday August 10 at AH Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road. Warren.
