Gustaf R. Daniell

Grosse Pointe Woods resident Gustaf R. Daniell, 83, died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. He was born September 6, 1925 in Grosse Pointe to Henri and Eugenie D'Hoostelaere. Mr. Daniell received his Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Detroit and was the owner and president of Daniell Architecture Group in Mount Clemens. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed golfing and served as president of Lochmoor Club in 1988. Mr. Daniell is survived by his daughters Cathy (Patrick) Murphy, Nancy Fitzgerald, Meg (Chris) Richard and Eileen (Steve) Blocki; sons Joseph, Stephen (Christine), Marty (Cindy), Jimmy and Bob and 20 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Anne Elizabeth Daniell and his brother Alphonse D'Hoostelaere. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 9:00 pm Thursday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A private funeral service was held with entombment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. with full military honors.
