

He was born to Arthur & Meta Moldenhauer on November 9, 1926 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He graduated from East Detroit High School, and attended Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois. He married Alice E. Mammel at St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Detroit (now known as Eastpointe) on June 12, 1948. He started his own insurance agency in 1949 and sold that agency in 1982 to his two sons and nephew. He was a member of the Macomb Insurance Agents and served as a past president. He retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and was baptized, confirmed, and married there. He served as a youth counselor, member of the school board, and stewardship board. He served two different times as treasurer of the congregation. He held various offices and served as president a number of times. Harold loved to sing and was a member of the regular choir and also the men's choir. He helped start a young married couples club and was the only charter member when it dissolved 50 years later. Harold and Alice transferred their church membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church in 2015. He was a member of the Lutheran Fraternities of America and served as a past president. He served on the Board for Lutheran Life Insurance and also served as a past president for them. Harold was a member of the East Detroit Rotary Club for over forty years and also served as a past president and treasurer. He also served as secretary to the Rotary District Governor, and was a past president for the Earl Christenson Scholarship. Harold loved to golf, bowl, play cards with his friends, and watch the Detroit Tigers play games, while talking on the phone with his brother, Herb. Harold is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice E. Moldenhauer, his five children, Richard (Janis) of Chesterfield, Raymond (Kathie) of Grasonville, MD, Ronald (Ruth Ann) of Charlotte, NC, Teri Reedy (Kerry) of Shelby Twp., and Trisa Donnelly of Clinton Twp. He is also survived by a brother, Herb Moldenhauer and a brother-in-law, Fred Zizelman, and two sister-in-laws, Arline Zizelman and Judy Mammel. Harold had 19 Grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren, (with #25 on the way), 13 God children, and a number of nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold and by his father, Arthur and his mother, Meta. Visitation will be at A.H. Peters Funeral Home at 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren, Michigan on Monday, March 20th from 5p.m. to 8p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 47120 Romeo Plank Road, in Macomb Township.
