

Wilson, Harold S., Age 86 a resident of Warren Michigan died Thursday March 1, 2012 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital Warren. He was the son of Stanley and Joan (nee Holm)Wilson. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan Harold was a graduate of Denby High School Class of 1942. He attended Wayne State University for a while before enlisting in the U.S.Navy March 1943. Harold was a Navigation Officer, Flight Navigator.Asst. Flight Officer and Transportation Officer during WW II serving with Patrol Squadron 102 in Tinian and Agana Guam. After his discharge from the Navy in 1946 he met Claire Kickhoefel at Bethel Lutheran Church in Detroit. They got married in May 1949 at Reformation Lutheran Church Detroit. He then attended Lawrence Tech University and graduated in 1952 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Harold was employed with Detroit Edison for 38 years before retirement. Harold's hobbies included flying, until his 1st by-pass surgery at the age of 52, woodworking, sailing with Claire, playing Scrabble with the family, he was known as "The King Of Scrabble", and most of all sharing family time at their cottage. Harold was proud of the fact that he had built the family cottage in the Leelanau Peninsula and enjoyed the time spent there. He is survived by his beloved wife Claire of 62 years, loving children Christopher(Nancy), Margaret(Kevin) Holevar, Kenneth(Linda) and Robert(Theresa), grandchildren Christopher(Amy), Ryan(Cailin), Joshua, Jessica, Veronica, Katelyn, Karah, Gabrielle Holevar, Nicholas Holevar, Cameron and great-grandfather of Emily, Jason and Benjamin. Adored uncle to Jim(Mary) and Thomas Szpyra. Vistation at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic(13 Mile Rd.), Warren Friday 2 to 9pm. Funeral Service at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 16661 E. State Fair, Detroit 48205, Saturday Instate at 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Military Honors at cemetery. Memorial contributions to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
