

Liposky, Harry, a lifelong resident of Eastpointe, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017 at his home at the age of 91. Harry was born November 6, 1925 in Detroit. Harry was a proud WWII Navy Veteran, having participated in six invasions under General MacArthur and Admiral Nemitz. He served most of his tenure on LST-693 (Landing Ship Tanks) in the Pacific. Mr. Liposky was also an engineer for Ford Motor Company for 24 years, designing carburetors. He was a graduate of Cass Tech High School in Detroit. Mr. Liposky was also an avid outdoorsman, specializing in the art of Walleye fishing. He was known for making his own lures and spoons for his fishing adventures on Lake St. Clair, the Detroit River, the St. Clair River, and Lake Erie. Harry proudly passed on his fishing traditions to his sons and grandsons. Education was extremely important to, Harry. He was determined to send all four of his children to college. At one time, Harry and Virginia had three children in post-secondary education, they couldn't have been more proud. Mr. Liposky was also a man of deep faith. A devout Catholic, Harry was always determined to lead by example in his faith and not just talk about his commitment to the Lord. Harry is the beloved husband of, Virginia (nee Rosen). Dearest father of Randall (Pam), Lawrence (Ann), Charlene (Tim) Distler, and Carol (Lana) Liposky. Loving grandfather of Bryce, Adam (Yessica), Andrew, Amanda (Eric), Sara (Larry), Rebecca (Scott), and Ralph "RT". Cherished great-grandfather of Rachael, Addison, Emmitt, Penelope and almost here, baby Olivia Ann. The family welcomes you to gather and share memories on Monday, from 2-9 with a 7pm Rosary at A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Grosse Pointe, 20705 Mack Ave. (at Vernier). Prayers beginning at 9am on Tuesday at the funeral home, then processing to St. Veronica Catholic Church, 21440 Universal, Eastpointe for a 10am Mass of Resurrection. Right of Committal with Military Honors to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Memorials suggested to Wounded Warrior Project.
