Jack Peter Accardo, age 69. Beloved husband of Michelle (nee Taggart) for 47 years. Loving Dad of Nicholas (Jolynn), Allison (Devlin), and Brooke (Matthew) Burtka. Proud Papa of Parker, Teagan and Taron (The Taz). Dearest son of Mary (nee Votano) and the late Peter, and brother of late Teresa. Brother-in-law of Michael, Nancy and the late Sheryl. Loving uncle to Tristan and Brendan, Gabriella, and sweet little Victoria. Loving nephew and cousin to many.
Jack loved being with his family, and attended many sporting events, concerts and recitals to support his children and grandchildren. Jack was a skilled and passionate musician from an early age. His talents truly shined playing the guitar, bass guitar, and bass fiddle. He loved spending time with his good friends and cousins. Whether it was dinners, parties, traveling, playing euchre, cribbage, or Mexican train dominos, Jack knew how to have a good time. His laughter and smile were infectious.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son. Always willing (and happy) to go the extra mile. He drove across the State to visit his grandson, Parker; 2600 miles round-trip to see his daughter Brooke and her family; and even once drove his daughter Allison back and forth from Grand Rapids to Detroit during a huge snowstorm so she could attend Archbishop Vigneron’s installation. He always looked forward to visiting his son Nicholas and was very proud of Nick’s military service and other accomplishments.
Jack was a double espresso connoisseur, single malt scotch lover and negroni expert. He loved his wife Michelle so much that he made sure her car was always filled with gas. To this day she has never once had to pump gas because Jack took care of it for her.
Jack was VP/CFO in the manufacturing industry for more than 46 years. He also was a two-term Chairman of the Board at MTMIC, as well as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Jack spent many hours volunteering at St. Joan of Arc for the annual festival, Marriage Institute, and singing and playing his bass guitar with the Anthems for Mass. Jack was very involved at Regina High School in the Dad’s Club during Allison and Brooke’s high school years.
To know Jack was to love Jack. He will be greatly missed but his positivity and smile will live on through his family and friends. Good night sweetie.
