Jack L. Patterson

Patterson, Jack L. age 80 May 21, 2011 Loving husband of Shirley. Dearest father of Jack (Laura) Glenn and Jennifer (Dan) DiFranco. Beloved Grandfather of Amanda and Alexander. Brother of James (Carol) Patterson. He served as a Police officer in Grosse Pointe Woods for 43 years and worked his way up through the ranks to Director of Public Safety in 1982. He retired from the department in December, 1998. Jack was an active member of the Wayne and Macomb County Police Chiefs Association and International Association of Chiefs of Police. Mr. Patterson was an avid history buff and enjoyed visiting Civil War Battlefields and other historic sites. He was very handy around the house and built multiple additions to his and other family members houses. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family including his dogs. Visitation Tuesday 2:30 pm - 9:00 pm with American Legion Service under the auspices of post 0303 between 6:30 pm and 7:oo pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Funeral Wednesday In State 10:00 am until time of service 11:00 am at Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church, 19950 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. Rev. James Rizer Jr. officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the church.
