James C. Calin

James Calin died at the age of 69 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Sunday January 29, 2012. Dear husband of Pat. Loving father of Debbie and Darrin. Proud Papa of Kyle, Ryan, Jenna and Jimi. Brother-in-law of Lorraine Laskey. Visitation Wednesday 3-9 pm A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods with Rosary at 7 pm. Mr. Calin will lie instate Thursday 9:30 am until time of Mass 10:00 am at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 22860 Schroeder, Eastpointe. Jim was a proud member and Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Lakeshore Council #2733 in St. Clair Shores and also a 4th Degree Knight with Fr. Solanus Casey K of C Assembly 0521 in Roseville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved fishing, boating, traveling and talking with people wherever he went and telling a good joke. Jim was an avid bowler, bowling in two leagues per week. He would occassionally bowl in tournaments including the Annual Knights of Columbus Officers Tournament.
