Jennie W. Wolf

We are sad to announce the death of Jennie (Wagner) Wolf, who passed away peacefully on Saturday April 15, 2023. She was a caring wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by husbands John Wagner and Stan Wolf and parents John and Antoinette Lubera. She is survived by her devoted brother Richard Lubera (Elizabeth), nephews Dave Lubera (Katie), Robert Lubera (Mary), John Wagner and nieces Debby Kawsky (Paul), Paulette Bouakadakis, Norma Foster, Pam Wagner, Dolly Wagner-Wilkins, and many great nieces and nephews.

Jennie Wolf was born Jennie Lubera in Buffalo, New York. She grew up in a Polish neighborhood, where her parents owned a grocery store, and she was always proud of her heritage. After high school graduation, Jennie entered the convent to become a Felician sister. She obtained both a bachelors and master’s degree while in the convent, beginning a long and successful teaching career, which continued after she left the convent, married John Wagner and settled in Rochester, NY. Jennie was known both as a dedicated teacher and school principal. Jennie and John both had a love of travel and took countless trips across the United States and abroad, often to visit family members. Jenne’s love of travel continued later in life with her second husband, Stan Wolf.

Jennie moved to Grosse Pointe, MI in 2019, putting her in close proximity to her brother, nieces, nephews and extended family. She had a strong faith and cared greatly for her brother, extended family and friends, with whom she loved to go out to restaurants and to attend concerts and other events. Jennie had many friends, was a joy to be with, and will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Jennie will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236. An instate will occur Friday, April 28, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 28, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
