Joan Irene Hart was born November 17, 1951, in Winfield Alabama; the daughter of Manuel and Virginia Carter. She passed away at the age of 67 on December 23, 2018. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she especially doted on her grandchildren. She was known as the cool Grandma because she was caught up with the latest trends, especially when it came to music and entertainment! Music was one of Joans great loves, and no single genre was her favorite. She did, however, have a special love for Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake, as well as many of the current and classic country stars. She loved to play golf and as she got older she enjoyed watching it on TV. Phil and Keegan were her favorites and her latest love was Brian Harman, and she even had the opportunity to see them play live! Video poker was also something she enjoyed playing, especially Deuces Wild and Double Bonus Poker. Joan was an active and lively woman who loved to stay busy. She loved to travel to visit friends and family from Canada to Alabama, from Myrtle Beach to Arizona, and everywhere in between. She worked for over 15 years in the cashiering department at Beaumont Hospital. Before that, Joan also worked in the lunchroom at her childrens school and made sure to keep a close eye on them when she could. Joan leaves behind her beloved husband of nearly 45 years Al, her dear children Jennifer (Andrew) MacKay, Scott (Teresa) Hart, and Cheryl (Dion) Zacharek. She is the treasured grandmother of Joey, Nikki, Sammi, Jacob, Ryan, and Ava. She is also survived by her siblings Jean Carter, David (Ruth) Carter, and Sharon Lee Carter, and brother-in-law Larry (Elaine) Hart, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, siblings Pat and Jim "Buddy" and siblings-in-law Eileen, and Lois (surviving spouse John). A memorial service will take place Friday, December 28, 2018, at 4:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren MI (at Masonic). Her family will be receiving friends and visitors from 10:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
