

Joseph Tomaszycki passed away on November 22, 2018 at the age of 63. He was born on August 13, 1955 in Detroit; son of Chester and Clara (nee Jastrzemski) Tomaszycki. Joe worked for General Motors as an electrician for over 30 years retiring in 2017. He will be remembered for his fun loving spirit, and his happy, welcoming nature. He loved spending time at his cottage outside of LAnse, Michigan. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, and gardening. His knowledge of oldies music was legendary. Joe was a talented singer who participated in his Churchs Choir, the Detroit Concert Choir, and the Michigan Chamber Chorale. Joe was very devout in his faith and St. Hyacinth Church. He went to elementary school at the church, was baptized and married at St. Hyacinth. He served as an usher, helped with electrical needs and would volunteer for the Banana Festival in whatever capacity was needed of him. Joes biggest love in life was spending time with his family, especially with his daughters. He was proud of his daughters Angela VanKempen (Craig) and Elizabeth Tomaszycki. He was predeceased by his parents and leaves behind his siblings Christopher, Arthur, Mary, Camille, Ann Marie, Carl, Stephen, Bernadette, and Gary. He will be missed by numerous extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Joe will lie instate on Monday from 10 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 3151 Farnsworth, Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church.
