

Born the second oldest of 7 children and raised in Detroit, Kurt was the beloved son of the late Germaine and Ferdinand Hiltz. Kurt is survived by his daughter Iris (James) Robinson as well as his siblings: AnnMarie (John) Meisner, Mark (Debbie) Hiltz, Mary (Bob) Long, John (Carissa) Hiltz, Mathew (Jennifer) Hiltz, and Roseanna Hiltz.
Kurt graduated from Servite HS in 1975 and moved to Texas at the age of 24. There he attended a trade school for mechanics and became an accomplished technician working on farm equipment.
Kurt loved his family, friends, neighbors, and dogs!
GIFTS: Kurt had a great love of music. He loved to sing, write, and listen to The Rolling Stones - his favorite band! He loved to exercise regularly (even before it was a thing), go exploring to find unique things, especially pieces of wood for carving one-of-a-kind keepsakes. Kurt was always up for an outing or adventure. Loved to play cards, chess, scrabble, or a board games. A tough billiard player, collector, and true lover of all animals. Loved and missed by all that were lucky to know him.
A visitation for Kurt will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236. An instate will occur Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 9:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080.
