Leonard Grice

Leonard "Snooky" Grice, 77, lifetime Metro Detroit resident, passed away on February 10, 2017 at the University Hospital Cardiovascular Center in Ann Arbor with his loving family by his side. Leonard was born September 10, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard GRICE of Saranac Lake, New York and Laura DEMARS of Staples, Ontario. Leonard was the only child between Richard and Laura, but he had six half siblings. Leonard grew up in Detroit where he met and married Christina A. GUZMAN and raised four children while he worked at the GM Tech Center in Warren, Michigan for 30 years. He later married Rebecca BYERS on February 12, 1999. She remained his soul mate for 19 years. He enjoyed playing pool and snooker, fishing, camping, westerns and going for walks on nature trails. He loved sharing his life and time with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Lola. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Laura; his half siblings, George William CARON of Ruscum, Ontario, Florence M. RENBERG, Richard GRICE, Robert "Bobby" GRICE and Shirley GRICE; And his daughter, Delores A. RINGEL of Detroit, Michigan. Leonard leaves behind and will be missed by his surviving wife of 18 years, Rebecca BYERS; his half-brother, William "Bill" (Mary, nee Contrerra) RENEBERG; his sons Leonard (Terri, nee Decoste) GRICE and Michael (Tine, nee Johnson) GRICE; his daughter Kathy (James) DEMMERS; Step-sons Joesph (Diana, nee Sparks) ALCINI, Harold (Kristy, nee Cleary) ALCINI; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; And 24 nieces and nephews. Leonard's family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 14th from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A funeral ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 15th at 10:00am at the funeral home. A committal service for Leonard will immediately follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery in Clinton Township.
