
Linda Rae Tisdale (nee Parsons), age 81 of Grosse Pointe Woods and St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Clair Shores on Sunday June 14, 2020. She was born on August 7 1938 in Oak Park, Illinois and was raised in the Chicago suburb Western Springs, Illinois. She attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was an Arts and Education major, a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree upon graduation in May of 1960. While at Westerm Michigan University, she met her future husband Bradford Tisdale and they were married in February of 1962. They resided in Grosse Pointe for more than 50 years. They raised three children – Scott Tisdale, Kristin (Steven) Edmonson, and Kevin (Danielle) Tisdale. They have four grandchildren – Dan Edmonson, twins Megan and Jack Edmonson, and Bennett Tisdale.
Linda taught elementary school for 4 years in Hinsdale, Illinois and St. Clair Shores, Michigan before raising her family. Linda loved tennis, gardening, sailing and traveling. She and her family enjoyed their sailboats for over 35 years and traveled extensively. She and her family spent time in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where they had a second home and visited annually since the early 1980’s. Linda and her husband Brad moved to St. Clair Shores in September of 2014.
A memorial visitation will take place on Friday June 26th from 1 PM to 5 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A private family memorial service will follow. Face coverings are required to enter and social distancing must be observed.
