She was born on Saturday, April 4, 1964 to Anton Sr and Gisella (nee Frey) Matye in Detroit, Michigan. Lisa graduated from a vocational program and began working as a hairdresser, a career she enjoyed for 38 years. Lisa had a special talent for connecting with people and through that she made each one of her clients feel unique and special. She also inspired many of her colleagues over the years and never hesitated to take someone under her wing.
Lisa was a devoted mother to her son Jared, and though she faced challenges as a single mother she always made sure her son had the best opportunities and everything he would need or want. She was a very supportive person and encouraged everyone to follow their dreams. She was also very close to her siblings and adored her nieces and nephews.
Traveling to spend time with her family, especially her siblings in Charlevoix, was always something Lisa looked forward to. Lisa loved her time in Charlevoix, where she would spend time with her family, take walks on the beach with the dogs, and admire the sunsets.
Lisa is survived by her dear mother Gisella Matye and beloved son Jared Imlay. She will also be missed by her siblings Reinhard (Jill) Matye and Anton (Diane) Matye Jr., nieces and nephews, Andrea Whitley, Christopher (Sarah) Matye, Anton(Lindsay) Matye III, Lauren (Alex) Pardy, Christian Matye and great nieces and nephews, Maya Whitley, Kai Whitley, Julius Matye, and Henry Matye.
Memorial service will be held for Lisa at a later date.
