Lucienne Mary Parker

Lucienne (Luci) Mary Parker (Nee: Neels, previously: Kirkconnell, Verscheure), age 97, of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan passed away at Burcham Hills, in East Lansing on Sunday, August 24, 2025, after living independently in her home until two weeks prior to her passing. She was born on August 15,1928 near Essex, Ontario, Canada to the late Gerard and Louise (Stoop) Neels, joining her brothers the late Francis (Frank) and the late Eli to complete their family of five.

Luci was preceded in death in 2008 by her beloved husband, Alfred J. (John) Parker. Luci and John enjoyed casinos, fishing, and spending time at their cottage Up North along the Manistee River.

Luci is survived by her loving sons, Thomas Kirkconnell (Shari) of Owosso, and George Verscheure (Jill) of Dewitt; loving grandchildren, Erin (Spencer Jackson) Verscheure, Justin Verscheure, Nickolas Lentz (Aurelia Guest), Jacob Lentz, and Nathan Tysonlentz (Nadia). Also, Luci loved her many “furry” grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Luci retired as a Vice President in the Trading Department of First of Michigan Corporation in Downtown Detroit after 30 years, with a total of 45 years working in that business. She was a proud and active member of the Amvets Post #57 Auxiliary, volunteering to help provide for the needs of active and retired military personnel. She shared many stories with her family about her love for her friends at the Post, where she consistently felt the need to share with them her liver pate’ and special individualized trinkets.

A Visitation will be held for Luci on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00PM, with an Amvets Post #57 Auxiliary Memorial Ceremony at 6:00PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.

A Funeral Service will be held for Luci on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00AM, with an Instate beginning at 9:30AM, with Fr. Rich Bartoszek as officiant at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St., Saint Clair Shores, MI 48080.
