

Marceline Theresa Spath, age 91, of St. Clair Shores, passed away on, Saturday, November 9th, 2019. She was born on April 10th, 1928 to the late Joseph and Theresa Black. She received her RN training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and went on to become the head nurse of the Outpatient Clinic at St. John Hospital in Detroit from 1961 until her retirement. A devout Catholic, she and her husband were dedicated parishioners at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Marceline volunteered at Pregnancy Aid and also delivered Meals on Wheels. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano as well as knitting and crocheting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Adamski (Joseph), Suzanne Spalding, Kathleen Schwedler (Thomas), Patricia McCormick (Thomas), John Dickson (Pamela), John Spath, deceased (Gloria) and David Spath (Sheryl); she is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John G. Spath, son John Spath and her grandson, Johnny. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 18th, 2019 in St. Jon of Arc Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael Bugarin as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the A.H Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI), with a prayer service held at 7:00pm.
