Marian Clarke Droll

Marian Clarke Droll was born January 11, 1931 in Muncie, Indiana and spent her childhood there with her parents Harold and Marguerite Clarke. She was predeceased by an older sister, Martha. Marian attended DePauw University in Green Castle, Indiana before moving to Grosse Pointe, Michigan. In Grosse Pointe, Marian raised four daughters and began a successful career in public relations. She excelled in communications and worked as a speech writer at the White House during the Reagan Administration. On March 22, 2019 Marian passed away peacefully at her residence in Grosse Pointe. She will be deeply missed and cherished by her daughters; Cindy Dirksen, Stacy (Eric) Fornell, Jennifer (Ben) Stormes and Kristin (Rick) Whitney. Mrs. Droll was blessed with grandchildren from each of her daughters including: Brooke, Clarke and Scott Dirksen, Alison ( Brendan), Oliver and Peter Fornell, Ben and Mark Stormes, Hugh, Elise and Hope Whitney . She will be greatly missed. There will be a service Wednesday 12 noon at St Paul on The Lake Church, 157 Lakeshore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan 48236. The family will receive visitors starting at 11:30 am. Burial will take place in Muncie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society or Childrens Center of Detroit.
