Mariella Helen Hayes

Mariella Hayes passed away on September 17, 2009 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was born on January 26, 1928 in Detroit to Edward and Helen Cole. She was a caring person retiring as a Registered Nurse. Mariella continued to care for others after retiring volunteering with the Services for Older Citizens (SOC). Her true love in life was being involved with her grandchildrens lives. Mrs. Hayes leaves behind her children Kathleen VandenBoom (Rick), Marianne Myers (Tim), Colleen Hass (Clare). She adored her grandchildren Rick, Jim, Tricia, Timmy, Laura, Matt, and Brandon. She was predeceased by her loving husband James and sons Patrick and Timothy. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Mrs. Hayes will lie instate Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 20955 Bournemouth, Harper Woods. Father William Herman will officiate. Mariella will be buried next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
