

Marjorie Rose Abels, affectionately known as "Midge" passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. John Macomb Hospital. Midge was born on December 16, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of Charles and Vivian. After the untimely death of her biological father Charles, she was reared by step-father, Louie Kuroski. Midge was family-oriented, fun, loving, caring woman, who was known as mom to most, friend to the friendless, and had a deep love for animals. In her earlier years she sang back up for Teegarden & Van Winkle. Midge was that soulful voice in the background of the song "God Loves Rock & Roll". She then went on to marry the love of her life, Henry Howard Abels, "Skitch" on June 9, 1973. To this union three children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband of 45-years, Skitch, two daughters; Tammy and Jaimie, son, Michael, and Roger whom she loved as her own, five grandchildren, Jacob, Ava, Damion, Dalilah, Savannah, and Arianna who proceeded her in death, eldest sister Kathy, and baby brother, Eddie, along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends that loved her dearly. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until time of funeral service 4:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236.
