Mary Badalamento, age 93 of Sterling Heights, passed away January 12, 2018. She was born in Detroit on February 19, 1924; the daughter of Andrew and Verna (nee Lasz) Senyszyn. Marys dedication to a job well done was evident in her 40 years at A&P Supermarket. During her time there, she became a proud member of UAW Local UFCW539 and even continued attending meetings long after her departure. Before that, she was a literal "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. And following her retirement, her positive attitude and cheerful demeanor enticed the manager at CVS to offer her a position as a Greeter at their store. Mary was also a longtime member of St. Annes Catholic Church in Warren. She loved to travel and enjoyed excursions with the Nuns of St. Annes. She also loved trips to Las Vegas, dancing polka, bowling, playing bingo, and playing Pinochle with family. Sunday suppers were a great example of what a great cook and host Mary was. These special moments, amongst so many others, were always an opportunity to witness her fun-loving and nurturing spirit. If you knew Mary, you loved her along with all the little things that made her unique. She had a quiet and modest way of taking care of people and never complained when things got tough. When asked how she was doing, her response was always, "Oh, better than most!". With a glowing smile and a playful wink, Mary filled a room with joy and love. She will be deeply remembered and dearly missed. Beloved wife of the late Dominic for 35 years. Loving mother of Jacqueline Duritza and the late Mary Louise Cruce. Treasured grandmother of Christy Duritza, John Duritza, Mary Duritza, Marianne Coffel, Dominic Coffel and Sherry (Rick) Stidwell. Proud Nona of Vincenzo, Nicole, Alex and Allison. Adoring great-great-grandmother of Eden. Dear sister of the late William, Nick, Michael, Diane and Harry. Mary is also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marys family will receive friends on Friday, January 19th from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile) in Warren. A funeral ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 20th at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. A committal service to immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
