Mary Lazar Bank: Born in Detroit Michigan, August 8, 1927. Went to be with her Lord February 9, 2014 at the age of 86. Loving daughter of Theodore and Maria Lazar, who immigrated to the United States from Romania to pursue a better life. Loving wife to the late Louis Bank Jr.. Loving mother to Louis Theodore Bank and Sharon Marie Splittstoesser (husband Clyde). Beloved Nana to Theodore Louis and William Clyde Splittstoesser. Devoted to serving our Lord through music, Mary began to play the organ and piano for the First Romanian Baptist Church of Detroit while still in her teens. Mary married Louis in 1947, upon his return from military service in WWII, at that same church. Mary continued to serve as a gifted organist for decades, to numerous churches and funeral homes until just a few months prior to her death. Mary reveled in watching her grandsons grow up and was an integral part of their lives. They in turn helped her around her house to retain her independence and remain in her home, where she passed peacefully in her sleep. Besides her family and her music, Mary loved her friends and enjoyed keeping in touch by phone and her favorite Hallmark Cards. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
