Mary Louise Dunn

Mary Louise Dunn, age 93, a longtime resident of Eastpointe, currently of Clinton Township, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Clinton Township. Mary was born August 17, 1923 in Detroit to Henry and Louise Bruck. Mary was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She entered the workforce in her late 50's and retired after 25 years of service to the Grosse Pointe Schools, and her volunteer work at St. John Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. The family would spend time at the cottage on Anchor Bay, of Lake St. Clair, in New Baltimore. Mary was an avid bowler and a Detroit Tigers Fan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren playing and reading to them. Mary was always open to discuss politics and religion especially in the gazebo at her daughter Ellen's home. Mary enjoyed her Wednesday treat of pizza and beer with her family. She was also a longtime member of St. Basil The Great Catholic Church. She will be missed. Beloved wife of the late James. Loving mother of Susan (Jeff) Givens, Mark (Linda), Ellen (Tom) Gancos, James (Nancy), and the late Kathleen Douglas. Dear grandmother of Mark Jr.(Gaby), Kevin (Meredith), Brian, Gregory (Ginny) Gancos, and Eric Gancos. Great-grandmother of Mica, Hayden, Abram, Jacob, and Harper. Loved sister of Ray (Marion) Bruck, Frank (Sue) Bruck, Bob (Carol) Bruck, the late Dolores Butler, and the late Hank Bruck. Visitation Thursday 2-9 PM rosary at 7PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI.
