Mary Olga Vickrey

On December 7, 2025, Maria Olga (Terry) Vickrey fell asleep in the Lord at her beautiful home in her room overlooking the river she always found peace with.

Most recently in June, Terry joyfully celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and many friends at their beloved farm in Memphis, Michigan. Born to devoted parents Constance Carconis and Demetrious Avouris from the island of Zakynthos, Greece, she was one of eight children and cherished her deceased brothers Nick, Alex, Danny and George and deceased sisters, Helen, Tessie, and Andrianna, all members of the Assumption Church.

In 1950, Terry met and married her husband, Bob Sr., after meeting while working together at the Downtown Movie Theater. Together they made their home in Mount Clemens and on Bob’s horse farm, a place Terry treasured and where she graciously hosted countless gatherings and celebrations. They were blessed with two children, Robert and Cynthia, who brought them great joy. Terry was predeceased by her husband and by her beloved daughter.

Raised in Detroit, Terry was a lifelong member of Assumption Church. Following the parish’s move to Marter Road, she became a founding and active member of several parish groups. She helped establish the Assumption Parents Association, the Women’s Golf League, the Bowling League, and participated in numerous fundraising efforts that supported the needs of the growing community.

Known for her warm smile and generous spirit, Terry touched everyone she met. Her leadership, kindness, and dedication left a lasting mark on those who continued her efforts into the next generation. She will be fondly remembered, deeply loved, and greatly missed.

She will lie Instate on Wednesday, December 10 from 10:30 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:30 AM at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores.

Interment Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
