Melba Jane Ward

As submitted by the family of Melba: Melba Jane Ward, of Naples, FL passed away on April 4, 2012. She was born in Waverley, TN and moved to Michigan with her husband. She raised her four children in Detroit where she lived for the next forty years. Upon retirement, she moved to Naples where she had resided for the past 12 years. Mrs. Ward lived a full life, full of activities, friends, and family. In particular, Mrs. Ward was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, where she served as an Altar Guild. She was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Michigan where she married her current husband, Richard Ward in 1992. Mrs. Ward was a Certified Calligrapher. She was also a member of the "Itching to Stitch" Club at Faith Lutheran Church. She loved to garden, and her Southern cooking was especially loved by all of her friends and family. Her survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Richard Ward, her children; Lisa Findlay and husband Michael, Joan Fiore and husband Gasper, Gary Adams and wife Corin, and Karen Muhlenbeck (deceased), her step children; Denise Ricci, Lori Brennan and husband Tim, and sons Jim, Brian, and Jerry Ward, her 21 grandchildren; Jennifer Fiore, Jessica Fiore and husband Michael Lucas, Fallon Luca, Michael Findlay, Jr., Jamie Muhlenbeck, Gary Adams Jr., Trent Adams, Devette Adams, step-grandchildren; Christina and Nick Ward, Colleen And Andrew Brennan, Kevin, Janelle and Jason Ricci, Dylan Ward, and Emma Ward and her 8 great-grandchildren. We will always remember her love to cook for us all. She will be in our hearts forever. Please join our family to say goodbye to Granny. Visitation Thursday 12 - 8 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Instate Friday 10:00 am until time of Funeral 11:00 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 47120 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb.
