

Michael Blair McCarthy, Jr., aged 51, of Harper Woods, Michigan, passed away on October 23, 2025, at Henry Ford St. John Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1974, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to Michael and Kathleen McCarthy.
Michael is survived by his mother, Kathleen McCarthy; his brothers, Patrick and Christopher (Erisa) McCarthy; his nephew, Kian McCarthy; and nieces, Lily and Mila McCarthy. He was predeceased by his father, Michael McCarthy Sr.
Michael was surrounded by a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dearly and will keep his memory alive in their hearts. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick sense of humor, and the deep, unwavering love he had for his family and friends. He had a laugh that could fill a room and will be remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to hear it. His big heart and humor made him a joy to be around, and his presence brought comfort and happiness to those he loved.
A true animal lover, Michael volunteered with the Humane Society and dedicated his time to caring for and advocating for animals in need. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Chevy, and cherished the memory of his late dogs, Macks and Emilio. Michael’s compassion extended to all creatures, great and small, and he found joy and peace in their companionship.
Michael loved cars, especially his yellow Jeep, which he took great pride in. He was incredibly handy and could fix just about anything, always happy to lend a hand whenever someone needed help. He was an avid reader with a lifelong love of books, having read more than a million over the years. He was also a talented athlete, excelling in baseball where he shined as a pitcher when he was younger.
Memorial Service information will be posted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or Humane Society of Michigan in his honor.
Michael’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
