Patricia Jean Ortleib

Patricia Ortleib passed away on June 17, 2013 at Autumn Woods Nursing Facility in Warren. She was born on May 25, 1926 in Flint, Michigan; daughter of Harry and Hazel (nee Downing) Hofmann. Patricia married Paul Ortleib on January 22, 1946 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Detroit, shortly after his discharge from the United States Army. They were the original owners of their home in Harper Woods, residing at the residence for 60 years. Mrs. Ortleib had numerous interests including reading, poetry, reading her bible, classical music, and taking pictures with her Polaroid camera. She sang in the church choir at Salem Lutheran Church. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe Farms. Her greatest love in life was her grandchildren. She never missed a game, concert, play or anything her grandchildren were involved with. She was a proud den mother for the cub scouts. She touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2003. She leaves behind her loving sons Dale (Marie), Michael (Charlene), and Gary (Linda). She adored her grandchildren Christopher (Angela), Kevin (Jessi), Erica Martin (Jeff), and Ellen (Ben Cohen). Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be buried next to her beloved Paul at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Social Services, 2170 E.
