Patsy Ann Travis was born August 2, 1932 in Newark, Arkansas to Thomas (T.A). and Mattie Travis. She grew up in Arkansas and then attended the Arkansas College. There she met her future husband, David. They fell in love and were married on February 14, 1953. They moved from Arkansas to Michigan where they raised their family. She gave birth to four daughters, Janis, Patricia, Anne and Sherri. She loved her family without bounds and made being a loving mom and giving wife her life's goal. She loved flowers and filled her yard with blooming roses, peonies and impatiens. She was an accomplished seamstress and spent many hours making homemade dresses for her young daughters. She progressed into bridesmaid dresses, veils and even a wedding dress for one of her daughters! Whether it be baking a favorite dessert or shopping for gifts, she put her whole heart into it for her girls. She enjoyed the simplest of things in life and made them seem special. Her laughter was contagious and elicited the same gales of laughter from all those around. The love of her life was her soul mate David. She built her life around him and never needed more than to be by his side. Their love story is legendary for all who know them. They were married almost 58 years and still acted like newlyweds in the way they looked at each other, held hands and daily "I love you's". Throughout their marriage they enjoyed traveling in and outside the country. Along with many vacations when the girls were young traveling in a camper, they also owned and traveled in an RV after David retired. Additionally, they were able to travel to Europe and spend time in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and England. Patsy's favorite place was Hawaii. She will be missed most by her husband David, daughter Janis (Steve) Byrn, Patricia (Rick) O'Neal, Anne (Edward) LaFriniere and Sherri (Kevin) Daugherty. Grandchildren Marci Williamson, Marc (Colleen) Byrn, Trish Austin, Kristin Hickey, Amber LaFriniere, Breanna Hickey, Tara Daugherty, Payton Daugherty, Jessica O'Neal, Mallory (Trevor) Kuzee, and Maegan O'Neal.
