Peter, his brother and parents arrived in Detroit on March 30, 1952 after immigrating from Austria. He began work April 23rd of that year which continued until retiring from Michigan Ring Screw in Warren in 1993. He and his family were longtime members of the Carpathia Club (Donauschwabian cultural club).
