

Raymond James Andary, Jr. passed away May 31, 2025 at the age of 43. He was a loving father, son and brother. Ray was born in Detroit, the son of Raymond J. Andary and Lynne A. Pierce on January 22, 1982. Ray graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School in 2000. He earned his Bachelors degree from Wayne State University and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. He joined the family law firm and practiced criminal and juvenile trial work until his passing. Ray decided to change his career path and on May 10, 2025 earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy. His goal was to enter the field of AI ethics.
Ray was an excellent writer and authored several books and essays under pseudonyms. He was humble and respectful to all people. He was a kind and understanding father. He was a loving and loyal son and a great big brother to his sisters. He will be greatly missed.
Ray is survived by his children Raymond James Andary III, and Gloria Lynne Andary, his parents Lynne A. Pierce and Raymond J. Andary, Sr., his sisters Elizabeth Andary and Lauren (Dan) Phillips, nephew Cameron and his Grandmother Betty Phelps. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Joanne Mualem, James and Grace Andary, Christine Greiner, Marie and Bill Reber, Janet White, Paul and Diane Pierce, Amy and Mike Barnett, many cousins and his former wife, Almeta.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm.
An instate will occur Friday, June 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Raymond's memory may be made to The Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
