

Richard A. Girling, age 75 of Sterling Heights, passed away May 19, 2015. He was born in Detroit on October 16, 1939; the son of John and Ruth Girling. Richard worked as a Human Resources Director at General Motors until his retirement in 1992. He was always on the go and was very well traveled, having spent time in 78 countries. He especially loved Florida and his cottage in Port Austin. Most of all, he cherished each moment with his grandkids. Richard will be remembered for his kind, generous nature and his willingness to help those in need. He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of the late Gloria and long-time companion of Angela de Navarre. Loving father of James (Janice), John (Tamara), Jay (Dawn), Jarrod (Becky), and the late Jeffrey (surviving wife Debra). Cherished grandfather of Bradley, Lindsey, Franklin, Alison, Charlotte, Kevin, Karah, Kollin, Jenna, David, Anthony, Joseph, Jack, and Andrew. Brother of Lawrence (Sharon), Douglas (Judy), and Robert (Chris). Richard's family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm and Friday, May 22, 2015 from 9:00am until 12-Noon at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile Road), Warren. Funeral service Friday, May 22, 2015 at 12-Noon at the funeral home. Interment to immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or to Huntington's Disease Society of America would be appreciated.
