

Richard Reiter passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on May 1st. He was born in Detroit on March 11, 1937; son of Nicholas and Ottiellia. On May 7, 1967 Richard married Rosalie McCall at St. George Orthodox Church in Detroit. He was devoted to Rosalie and even sold his Chris Craft boat to buy her a wedding ring. Throughout their marriage they maintained residences on Bishop in Detroit, Edmunton, and eventually Hunt Club Dr. in Grosse Pointe Woods in 1986. Richard loved classic cars. He enjoyed being outdoors and working on his yard. He was a diehard Lions fan. His truest love was his family. He loved watching his children play basketball and supported his grandchildren with whatever sport they were participating in. Mr. Reiter was very proud of his son Scott (Kristen) and daughter Kimberly (Andrew) Ayrault. He adored his grandchildren Benjamin, Alexander, Joseph, Julia, Adam, and Annabel. He will be missed by his numerous extended family members. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Mr. Reiter will lie instate on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral at 10:30 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods. Deacon Bill Jamieson will officiate. Richard will be entombed next to his beloved Rosalie at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Roseville with military honors.
