Robert Frederic Leech

Robert F. Leech passed away on September 24th at St John Hospital in Detroit. He was born on January 25, 1938 to Frederic and Ruth (nee Birdseye) Leech. Mr. Leech earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the Detroit Institute of Technology. He retired as a Mortgage Officer from National Bank of Detroit and continued to enjoy working for Parks Title Company. Robert was honorably discharged from the United States Army in September of 1967 after serving our country proudly. He was active in the community, belonging to the Grosse Pointe Senior Men's Club, St. Michael's Episcopal Choir, and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was formerly a member of the Detroit Commandry. Robert was fond of music and travel. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening. Mr. Leech leaves behind his wife Mary; son Scott (Amy); and daughter Dee Firnschild. He adored his granddaughter Vivian. He is survived by his sisters Anne (Rob) Wujcik and Carolyn. A Memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, September 27th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 29th at 10:00 am at St. Michael's Episcopal Church 20475 Sunningdale, Grosse Pointe Woods. His ashes will be intered in the Memorial Garden at the Church. Contributions may be made to the St. Michael's Episcopal Choir or the charity of the donor's choice.
