Robert G. Paterson

Robert Gray Paterson, age 57 of Warren, passed away June 1, 2017. He was born in Detroit on June 16, 1959; the son of William Arthur Paterson and Lorena Gray (nee Erwin) Ensley. Bobby's dedication to commitment and hard work was evident in his 32 years as a Wood Model Maker at General Motors. He retired on August 1, 2016 due to his illness. His illness, though, never slowed him down. It was in his nature to keep busy and keep going. He married his soul mate, Jamilla, on December 29, 2015 and their joy for each other sustained their motivation to take care of one another and accomplish goals. Bobby had lists and he strived to complete projects up until his final days. Bobby got pleasure in spending time amongst his fruit trees in his "Paradise" and he was an absolute racecar fanatic. He owned five AMX cars and constantly worked on them. He owned many trophies and once won a race in Wisconsin, while his daughter, Lorena, was distractedly chasing butterflies. Most of all, Bobby's greatest passion was for his family. He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Jamilla (nee Farrarh) Paterson. Loving father of Lorena (Matt) McPhillips and adoptive father of Amir Robert Paterson. Cherished son of William Arthur Paterson and Lorena Gray (nee Erwin) Ensley. Dear brother of Susan (John) Senopole, Ruth Ann Paterson, Patricia (Philip) Wiegand and William (Amiee) Paterson III. Caring uncle of Christopher Scott, Kelly Fink, Marian Fink, John Senopole Jr., Kevin Senopole, Philip Wiegand Jr., Katie Doran, Scott Wiegand and Arielle Paterson. Bobby is also survived by eleven treasured great-nieces and nephews. Bobby's family will receive friends on Friday, June 2nd from 9:00am until time of service 10:00am at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Pastor Tim Bollinger will officiate.
