Rush was an electrician by trade but he could build or fix anything. His engineering feats are evident in his cottage on Harsens Island. Rush bought the property at 16 and built the house upon his return from World War II. You can see Rush and feel Helene in every inch of the cottage. He and Helene could tell you which freighter was coming down the river from the time it rounded the bend in Algonac. Rush lost Helene almost 4 years ago. Since that day he has wished to be with her. She came to get him Monday morning while he slept. He is at peace, together again with the love of his life. He is survived by his daughters Christine (Peter) Wanger and Debra (David Yeager) Yarnell, his two grandsons Aaron (Bethany) Yeager, and Luke Yeager, two great granddaughters Kathryn and Alexis Yeager, his special son William Darrin Harvey, many nephews, nieces, and good friends. Rush was a people person and made a mark everywhere he went. He was proud to be a Navy Veteran and had a deep love of country. Rush mellowed as he aged but anyone who knew him years back knows there were two ways to do things: Rush's way or the wrong way. He had strong determination but a soft heart. Gone for now from us but forever remembered in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Mr. Yarnell's funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. His family will receive guests at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Donations to Michigan Humane Society, P.O. Box 214182, Auburns Hills, MI 48321-4182.
