Ryan Jay McCrary

Ryan "Crare" McCrary Former Grosse Pointe Park resident Ryan "Crare" McCrary, 24, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, in Lake Park, Fla. He was born in Grosse Pointe to Daniel and Margaret McCrary and graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 2004. He attended Palm Beach State College and Valencia College and was working at Publix Super Market training for a management position in Lake Park. Ryan played drums and other musical instruments in bands and as a solo artist. He loved the outdoors, camping, computer technology, gaming and engineering. He had a passion for skiing, scuba diving, music and art. He participated in support groups and recovery programs. Ryan's friends considered him a person of eclectic interests and said he was loved by all who met him. In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his sister, Anna McCrary; grandmothers, Jeane McCrary and Jozefa Malek and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack, Grosse Pointe Woods. The memorial service begins at 4 p.m. Ryan's ashes will be scattered at the places he loved.
