

Ryan William Warren, age 34, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Ryan was born on April 11, 1979 in Detroit, the son of Richard and Anna Warren. Ryan grew up in Eastpointe and graduated from DeLaSalle Collegiate High School in 1997. While at high school, Ryan played on the lacrosse team. Ryan continued his education at Michigan State University and graduated from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in 2006. He was the executive chef at Nordstrom Partridge Creek. Ryan married Stephanie Slomski at St. Peter the Apostle Church on February 6, 2010. Ryan loved his family, extended family and his many friends. He had a contagious smile and was at the center of the circle whenever he gathered with his friends. His huge personality and quick wit were his trademarks. He was a big jungle gym for his three nephews and his niece. His devotion to his family and friends was evident by his willingness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. Ryan also was fond of fantasy football, watching cooking shows, music and animals. His yellow Labrador Retriever, Sadie, was a constant companion. Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; his beloved parents, Richard and Anna Warren; his brother Richard (Lindsay); his mother-in-law, Enza Slomski; his paternal grandmother, Frances Warren; his sister-in-law Carla Smith (Chris); brother-in-law, Joe Slomski (Amanda); his three nephews, Tommy, Sammy and Michael; his niece and God-daughter, Abby Smith; and his God-mother, Marian Impastato. Ryan was predeceased by his father-in-law, Michael Slomski; his grandparents, George Warren and Emedio and Olanda Santavicca and his God-father, Joseph Santavicca. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Ryan will lie instate at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 21551 Universal at Toepfer in Eastpointe from 9:30 a.m. Friday until mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Stanley Pachla will officiate. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. The family has suggested memorials be made to Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society, 296 Chalfonte, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
