Sabry M. Attia

Sabry M. Attia, PhD. age 87, died peacefully on September 11, 2014. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt and resided in Grosse Pointe Woods for 40+ years. Sabry was the beloved father of Mervat Hassan, Mona Noureldem, Madiha Mansfield and Mayssa Attia. Grandfather of Ramy, Ashref, Aliaa, Tarick, Amira, Maha, Ahmed, Lonny, Lance and Danielle. Former husband of Serria Attia. He taught his family to be hardworkers, compassionate, kind and loving. Dr. Attia was known as a passionate social worker, psychologist and guardian for those in need. He led his family by example and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation for Dr. Attia will be from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until services begin at 12 noon, at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. Interment will be at the Islamic Memorial Gardens in Westland. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials be made to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle; Chicago, IL 60674.
