Stella Marie Esperti

Stella Marie Esperti passed away on March 30, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born on Christmas day in 1938; daughter of Vito and Anna Fontana. She attended St Ambrose Catholic School from kindergarten through the 12th grade.

Stella was an ordinance enforcement officer with the Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety Department from October 1981 until July 2004. She was very active in the community, volunteering with the Amvets Post 57 in Harper Woods as well as a member of the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary. She woke up every day with a purpose. She enjoyed taking care of other people. She will be remembered for her fun loving nature, her warm spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.

She was proud of her children Anne Marie Esperti, Catherine Butkiewicz (Barry), Patricia Heenan (the late Gregory) and Anthony Esperti (Jean). She adored her grandchildren Christina Taite (Craig) and Tyler Heenan; step-grandchildren Jonathan and Benjamin Zabierek; and great-grandchildren Adrianna and Gianna. She is survived by her brother Joseph Fontana (Pat). She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Dominic and Benny Fontana, and sister Connie Licata.

A memorial visitation for Stella will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
