Thomas Doetsch

Thomas Edward Doetsch, age 74, a resident of Harper Woods, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home. Thomas, affectionately known to his family and friends as Tom, was born in Roseville, Michigan on July 18, 1942 to William and Cecelia. Thomas served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Lawrence Tech University and owned and operated "Macs Alternative Vending" company. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and was an avid softball player. He is survived by his wife Halyna "Helen" whom he married on September 21, 1996. He is the beloved father to Stacey (Mike) Kable and Jamie Doetsch. Dear step-father to Justin (Dana) Lindseau, and Brandon (Annalisa) Goodrich. Cherished grandfather to Ben and Sarah. Remembered step-grandfather to Brandon, Sadie, Mabel, Truman, Pat, Matt, Lindsey, and Emily. Beloved brother of Robert Doetsch, Doris (Ron) Hickey, John Doetsch, Ted (Linda) Doetsch and Keith Doetsch. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Cecelia. His siblings, Eldon Doetsch, David Doetsch, Philip Doetsch, Richard Doetsch, Estelle "Star" Lamb, and Charles "Billy" Doetsch. The family has entrusted the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, of Grosse Pointe Woods, with the arrangements. A memorial gathering and celebration of Toms life will be held at a later date.
