She was a deeply loving and devoted mother to her cherished son, Konstantinos “Gus,” whose loss she carried with quiet strength and enduring love. After a lifetime of faith and perseverance, Vasiliki is now at peace, reunited with her beloved son in heaven—a reunion that brings comfort and hope to all who loved her.
Vasiliki was the beloved wife of the late Michael Morakeas and was preceded in death by her siblings Maria Meleas, George Meleas, Peter Meleas, and Haralampos Meleas.
She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, to whom she was far more than an aunt—she was a guiding presence, a yiayia-like figure whose warmth, wisdom, and gentle care made everyone feel deeply loved.
A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Vasiliki was devoted to the Greek Orthodox Church throughout her life. She was actively involved in both St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where her faith, service, and presence were a meaningful part of the parish communities. Her church was her second home, and her faith was the foundation of her life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, from 10:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Assumption or St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church.
